The Departure of Time was written for Jack Yarbrough. It is an extended piano work which is written in two sections: one which begins with a variety of homophonic chords, fragments of melodies, and repeated notes which are subject to highly specific pedal instructions and the second which features four e-bows sustaining open piano strings which the performer strikes harmonic nodes on the low strings to interrupt the stable tones produced by the e-bow.   Category
